Romans 12:9

I think God spoke to me in the shower last night. "Hate what is evil, cling to what is good."
Without even knowing it, I think this has been my motto for the last year.

It's still overwhelming at times- my parent's separation/divorce. Emotions re-surface and stress re-builds.
I've learned a LOT, I can tell you that! Something I really struggle with is my loss of respect for others. There's so many people who I thought I knew, but when put on the spot, let me down immensely! Some of my prime Christian role models have proven themselves not so wonderful. I was raised a Christian person- to do what is right, support good deeds, stay positive. Sometimes I feel that all my "teachers" have deserted their curriculum and left me to defend for myself. There's defiantely lack of "practicing what you preach."

"Hate what is evil"- that's pretty simple- basic Christian principle. Hate sin. Avoid what is wrong. It does not say "Hate WHO is doing evil," but rather hate the sin itself, stay away from it.
"Cling to what is good"- also pretty simple. Do what is right. Model what is good. Support good deeds.

It's all a matter of right vs. wrong. It seems so plain and simple to me... why must it be so difficult?
