Tomorrow: Moving Day Part I

We've been busy packing this week, and I think we'll be ready to head down the road tomorrow afternoon. We have my brother-in-law's pick-up, a small trailer, and our Equinox to fill with necessities. We'll be leaving all the furniture here(except Kyla's crib and changing table/dresser) and other stuff that we don't need will stay here.
I did get a break from packing this afternoon to hang out with my Pella co-workers at Applebees as a sort of "farewell party". We had a great time. Thanks to everyone who came!
Kyla has been attempting to empty all of the boxes we pack... little stinker! She also has learned to pull herself to stand on all the boxes, which is exciting for her! Oh, she had her 9 month appointment on Monday. She weighs 19.5 pounds and is 29 inches tall. She's definitely slowed down on the weight gain since she learned to crawl. And her ear infection is all better. Perfectly healthy again.
Back to moving...We'll be moving to Inwood until our house in Pella sells. My parents own the building next door to their house and in the rear of it is an overnight room that visitors to town can rent. We will be living there. It doesn't have a kitchen, so we'll be over at my parents quite a bit too. It will be good for all of us, though, that we do have our own space.
Greg starts his new job in Sioux Falls on May 3, I start mine on May 10.
Let the adventure begin!

Job Accepted

I have accepted the RN position with the Cardiovascular Institute at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls. It is a clinic job and I'll be working with Dr. Solberg, a cardiologist. I'm very excited about the fact that I won't work any nights, weekends, or holidays! It'll be 4-5 days a week, full-time. Everyone who works there was so nice during the interviews. I'm excited to learn alot and care for this type of patients! I start May 10.
Greg has already been going up to Sioux Falls to do some training with Rural Metro. He has to go tomorrow again to be there for two days.
We don't have any more news on the house selling... we're just trying to be patient.
Kyla hasn't acted sick at all since she started her antibiotis on Monday. Hopefully this is someting that won't come back! She has her 9 month appointment next Monday, so the Dr. will make sure the ear infection has cleared up.

Sick Little Girl

Kyla has her first ear infection. It's been another interesting day...
Greg has been in Sioux Falls yesterday and today doing things with his new job. I brought Kyla to Katie (our wonderful babysitter's) house this morning as I had to work 7a-7p. Kyla had been acting perfectly normal. Katie called me at noon stating that Kyla was very sleepy and had a fever of 101.6. She's never had a fever before, so I was worried. I got off work soon thereafter, got Kyla home and noticed some yellow ear drainage, plus her fever reached 102.1, even after some Motrin. So, I called the Doctor and we got in within an hour. Yep... ear infection in the right ear. We got some Amoxicillin on board, as well as plenty of Tylenol and Motrin; she's still pretty hot. She's a little cranky, but mostly just cuddly and tired. I'm glad we're not living any of the horror stories I've heard about ear infections!
I have some good news to report also: we had a house showing this evening which went well. She is going to come back on Saturday, so we'll hope again for the best! AND... I got offered a job in Sioux Falls with a Cardiologist's clinic! I'm working out all the details, so I'll clue you in on more of that later.

One busy day

Greg is working today, and I had a day filled with business! The day started at 7:00 (Kyla's new (early) wake-up time). I had a Skype interview with Sanford hospital at 8:30, and exit interview with Pella Regional at 11:00, a house showing at 3:45, and another Skype interview at 4:00. Greg was able to come home to watch Kyla for the first interview this morning, I had to take her with me to the second, and the third one I had to do at Greg's office, so Kyla came with while Julie (their office manager) babysat. Then, we had to run and get some groceries.
Meanwhile, I'm still not feeling 100% well. I was slightly ill all weekend. (No! I'm not pregnant) I had some fevers, nausea and diarrhea... sorry if that's TMI.
The interviews went well (I think) We'll see if I get a job offer. The house showing also went well. But, the person needs to sell his house first. So we wait.
After all the chaos, I couldn't resist going for a walk. It was warm out, the tulips are blooming, the magnolia trees are GORGEOUS, and the dog needed to get out of the house! So, we walked to the park and Kyla loved her first swing ride! She also loved waving at every person we came across, haha.

Here's some more pictues I uploaded off my phone today... Now that Kyla is more mobile, she is quite difficult to put to bed, especially for naps. She crawls around, pulls herself up and peers through the rails. Eventually she will fall asleep, but in pretty precarious positions. It really just makes me laugh!

Best Buds

Now that Kyla can crawl, she can get back at the dog for all the pestering he has done in the last 8 months! Mason has always been gentle, acts annoyed with Kyla at times, but really does love her. They're so cute together! Kyla has really taken off with this crawling thing. She isn't completely coordinated yet, but boy can she get into trouble! Pulling things off shelves, following me everywhere, getting stuck under tables/chairs, and trying to to climb out of her crib! I'm proud of her for learning and exploring, but she's kinda naughty! She's also hit her head at least three times today, either from crawling too fast, or trying to pull herself up on something and slipping... poor thing. She has both of her bottom teeth, and now we think one of the top ones is coming in. This one seems to be more painful than the first two. We've had some difficult early mornings...
Lastly, here is Kyla in her Easter dress on Sunday morning, told ya she was cute ;)

Weekend Update

Well, my parents and sister came for the weekend and we got a lot of stuff done around the house... a few fix-ups, touched up some paint, moved some stuff out, now I think it is ready! Bring on the lookers! Hopefully this all goes well. We have it listed with Pella Home Realty, with the same realtor we bought it with!
We had a good Easter Sunday. Kyla looked adorable in her dress this morning (thanks to Grandma Jane :) We all had a good dinner, then my parents took off and we did some Geocaching. This is something we tried to get into last fall and are excited again now that it is nice out! We found two caches in Pella today.
I'm watching Kyla on the floor right now... she is on the move! She figured out how to crawl this past week and can suddenly move quicker than us! I need to try to get it on video... but as I've said before, she doesn't perform well in front of the camera. She's figured out how to work some of her toys too. We constantly hear the Busy Ball Popper! She's also getting her 2nd tooth on the bottom, so we're dealing with drool and runny nose again.
Time to find some supper and get ready to watch the Amazing Race!!
